THE HUMAN MYTH: THE CONFERENCE
Another cycle has passed, and is time to meet again for faeries, elves and other magical creatures. They are desperate, angry, at times hopeless, by the reckless destructive human behaviour pursued in their shared environment.
The main strategy adopted in the past - meaning hiding in the forests and occasionally showing themselves to humans, which regularly have been looking at them with devotion and have honoured them - is definitely failing in the present times. Nowadays humans are different, they don’t react to the visions of faeries with growing respect towards what some humans like to call “Nature”, on the opposite they seem simply entertained by the exceptional encounter and react as if it was any other human show or performance: they laugh, get excited, post a low-quality video on YouTube, eat junk food, and leave behind soda cans and other trash in the unfortunate environment.
Among the growing desperation and the controversial discussions, that reach the climax when considering an ultimate human genocide, the magical creatures are finally introduced to a rather innovative, ethically more acceptable technological fix, namely: human-engineering.
Interactive performance. Concept by Lea Lecher, Paolo Zuccotti, Daniele Bianco and Emma Örn.
With Kjersti Aas Stenby, Jan Hajdelak Husták and Nela H. Kornetova.
Dramaturgy by Lisa Färnström, costumes by Martina Sildén.
Free entrance. Presented on 28th August 19.00 - 20.30 and 29th August at 11.30 - 13.00.
